How we handle insurance:
We work with several different insurance providers and are happy to file your claim for you. Please bring your insurance information on the day of your child’s appointment.
We file all claims electronically, and will forward along any balance left on your account after 30 days. We request that you pay that balance, whether your insurance has paid its share yet or not (we’ll certainly send you a refund once your insurance company does pay).
We do charge 1.5% on balances that are more than 60 days old.
Some important facts about dental insurance:
- No insurance provider pays 100% of all procedures. If only this were true! Usually, plans pay between 50% ¬– 80% of the average total fee. We recommend staying up-to-date with what your plan covers so as not to run into surprises along he way.*
- Sometimes insurance providers will cite a dentist’s fee as above or below the usual, customary, or reasonable fee (“UCR”) that the company uses. The insurance provider itself decides this number, not the dental industry, and it can be very misleading.
- Deductibles and co-payments should be considered before you schedule your procedure. Check with your insurance provider to make sure you know what percentage you’ve committed to pay.
